Where: Strathcona Park - Laurier Avenue E. & Range Road, Ottawa, Canada When: Saturday AUGUST 10th, 2024 10 AM – 4 PM
Join us for a day in the park and enjoy one of the area’s most enjoyable fresh-air event featuring many talented artists and artisans. On Saturday, August 10 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. established artists and artisans and undiscovered talents will come together to sell their work directly to the public and to raise public awareness about mental illness. Art in Strathcona Park also offers jewellery and pottery, to name just a few, and will also feature a silent auction and a BBQ - something for just about everyone!
Art in Strathcona Park is a fundraising and public awareness event sponsored by Mental Illness Caregivers Association (MICA).
Did you know that in any given year, 1 in 5 Canadian experiences a mental health problem or illness? The sad fact is that we are all touched in some way by mental health issues through a family member, a friend or a colleague. Unfortunately, the reality is that public misconceptions, fear and the stigma associated with having a mental illness may discourage people from seeking help for themselves or their family member.
Set in an idyllic location that draws many visitors and locals, Strathcona Park is located between the Rideau River and Range Road, south of Laurier Avenue East. Regardless of whether or not you're in the market for original art, or jewellery or other craft, Art in Strathcona Park is a pleasant way to spend a summer Saturday.
Ideal venue for a professional or semi-professional artist or artisan seeking to exhibit work in a low-cost, yet beautiful venue.
Please note that In-writing (ie: written registration forms sent via Canada Post) registrations will not be accepted as of August 9, but you can still register via email to mica.artinthepark@gmail.com and pay their registration fees in cash on the day of the event.
